Get New Sites Indexed Fast and Free
You have a new site, you have submitted it to all the big search engines, and now you wait, and wait but nothing happens. Sad, isn’t it? In this post I will tell you how to get inside search engines, like Google, Yahoo and MSN rather quick and free. However, the word free here, doesn’t mean work-free. You must actually work, a little, to get in fast, but you doesn’t need to pay in cash for it, though. Also, the way to get inside the search engines, that I going to show you, are spelled, backlinks.
First, what are backlinks good for? Well, they are good for many reasons, but the important one is, getting in and ranked by the search engines. It’s better, that the search engine finds your site, while visiting another, already ranked site, then you, adding it yourself, via some sort of add URL function or worse, through a submission service or software.
It’s logical, really. Think about it, if you where a search engine robot, and you discover that a site with high importance, suddenly links to a site, that isn’t in your index, wouldn’t you be keen on getting that new site in you index? Of course, you would, because that new site most have some sort of relevancy, since an established site, decides to link to it. That’s why it’s better to be found by the search engines, then you, showing them your new site.
You might have read on the net that some SEO people can get your new site inside Google in just a couple of hours up to a day or two, for a chunk of dollars. Well, that’s how they do it, they place links to your new site on a couple of established high PR sites, and boom, your inside Google, in record time. So, now you might see, why getting high quality backlinks, are important, for your new site.
The trick, is to get backlinks from sites that Google and other search engines visit, frequently. Some sites, gets a visit, from Google and the rest of the major search engines, a couple of times a day. That are, the sites that we want free backlinks from.
So, how do you know if a site get a lot of a visits from Google and the other search engines? There are some ways to check that, but the best one is to look for sites with a high PR. To do that, make sure that you have downloaded and installed Google tool bar, in your browser, that way you will always see the PR for the site, that you are browsing on.
Another way, to find out if a site gets a lot of visits from the search engines, is to look at the cached version, that Google, Yahoo or MSN has of the site. Usually, you can see a date when the site was cached, in the disclaimer note from the search engine. If not, try to find a date on the site itself, it can be a last updated note, or something like that. Now, that is not the most accurate way, since the cache seems to lag, a couple of days.
After you have found a site with high PR, just mail the site owner and ask for a link and hope for the best… Not, want you wanted to hear, right!? Well, it’s not a bad idea, to shoot off a mail to a high PR site, but the chances are low that you will get a positive response, if you get one at all. Of course, there is a better and easier way.
The answer is blogs. Blogs are wonderful things, both to have and to use. Search engines love blogs, most of all, for their quantity of unique content and how they present it for them. So, now we are going to take advantage of that fact. The trick here is to find blog posts, that are related to the content of your new site, also the posts must have a high PR, preferable a PR rank of 3-4 or higher.
Assume, that you have found a blog post, that is relevant to your new site, all you need to do now is to write a comment to that post. The way, you add comments to your post, is that you enter your name, e-mail address AND the URL to your website. That info, besides your e-mail address, will be published underneath the post, giving you a free link, from a high PR page, to your new site. Neat, isn’t it.
Of course, you will not get much traffic from such a link, but that isn’t our primary goal. Our goal is to get Google and the other search engines, to know and include our new site in their indexes.
However, as good as it sounds, you must think about how you comment the post, in question. If your comment looks like spam, it will be deleted or if it’s a moderated blog, not approved at all. So, make sure that you write relevant comments, that are related to the topic of the post. Also, I strongly advice you from spamming blogs, your site’s domain or e-mail address, can and will be banned, and you don’t want that to happen. So, again, whatever you do, do not try to spam the blogs!
OK, but what about the, rel=”nofollow” tag, that some blogs put on their outgoing links, preventing search engines, to take notice of it?
Well, lets talk about the famous, rel=”nofollow” tag. It was invented by Google in 2005, as a way to prevent, just, comment spam. Now, some search engines take the tag literally and does not follow ‘nofollow’ links. Now, some search engines follows the link and index sites and pages, that they found, that are not in their index. Some even say that Google does that too, but Google doesn’t increase your rank, nor do they count that link as an incoming link. Nevertheless, that suits us fine, since we are only looking to get indexed faster and not get a higher ranking, at this stage, anyway.
There are plenty of references around the net about the ‘nofollow’ tag, and it’s not that uncommon, that they contradict one another. So, the best way is, as always, to build your own opinion, through your own experiences.
OK, now we have covered blogs, lets look at another way of getting backlinks, from established sites with high PR. Now, lets take a look at all those forums, that exists around the Internet. There are forums about every subject, that you could possible imagine. The good part is, that Google and the other search engines, visit those forums very often, since they have the tendency to get new relevant content, very often. So finding a forum that is related to your new site’s topic, isn’t that hard. Just do a search for your subject and add the word forum, at the end of your search terms.
When you have found a forum that, you think, suits you and your new site, you register for an account at that forum. Then, in your user profile, you will find an option to add a custom signature. In your signature, you add a link to your new site, together with some text about it. Now, all you has to do is to start posting, on the forum. Again, do not spam the forum with your posts! Try to write relevant posts or reply to others posts. Your posts should add something useful, to the other members of the forum. Also, if you write relevant posts, chances are high that you also will get some free traffic from it, too!
Now, I hope that you have understood, how you can get your new sites, inside Google and the other major search engines, quickly and free. In my next post, about getting backlinks for free, I will show you how to get high quality backlinks, that will help you increase your ranking and traffic.
