This tip is for Mimbo Pro Version: 1.2
To make the image carousel pick images, from all your categories, all you need to do is to edit one line, in index.php (main index template). You can do it through the Theme Editor, inside WordPress or you can do it locally and then upload the new version of, index.php.
Here is a step by step instruction, for you.
First, you must know what internal id’s your categories have. It’s rather easy to find out.
- Go to the Manage tab and click on a category.
- Now, look in the address field, and you will see something similar to this,
http://www.yoursite.com/wp-admin/categories.php?action=edit&cat_ID=4
As you can see you have the category id, displayed at the end.
Now, write up all the Id’s, for the categories, that you would like the carousel, select images from.
When your done, it’s time to edit the index.php.
- Open up index.php
- Find this line of code. See the image below, for guidance.
query_posts('showposts=' . $bm_carouselCount . '&cat=' . $bm_carousel );

Now, what we want to do, is to change the variable $bm_carousel, to contain the categories, you want. We do that by repleacing, $bm_carousel, with the id’s we wrote down before, like this.
query_posts('showposts=' . $bm_carouselCount . '&cat=' . "3, 5, 7, 9, 10" );

(Where, “3, 5, 7, 9, 10”, would be your unique id’s!)
Now, just save your index.php and your done. Now, when you look at your Mimbo Pro front page, you will see that the image carousel, have selected images, from the categories, that you have selected, instead of just one.
