Plan For Revenue

Apparently, if you doesn’t have a plan for your website, it will simply not work out as you thought it would. You cannot just throw up some web pages on random, and think that they will generate any kind of revenue. That is a dead end, believe me, I have done it…
When you are in the design state of building, think revenue. Be creative, that way you will find several ways for you site to generate revenue. Sketch your layout on a piece of paper, then you can easily erase or add blocks as you go along. When you sketch your layout, try to think as a visitor, to your future site. Create different kinds of sections on your site, one for the ads, the navigation, news, articles etc.

Then you go ahead and create subsections. For example, you have a gaming site, then you could have subsections for different type of games, like action, adventure, puzzles etc. The smaller niches that you can break down your main theme to, the better it is. Also, if you can create subsections, that only your site have, it will be easier to get traffic from the search engines, and pick up the surfers that are looking for more detailed info. Remember, if your site is unique, the chances of ranking high in the search engines will increase.

However, as you work on your site’s layout, always focus on the revenue. Plan and create certain blocks that are reserved for ad selling and for programs like adsense etc. By filling some of those blocks from the start, you’ll save a lot of time farther ahead, compared with if you wouldn’t. Imagine that you have created a site with around 100 pages, online, it would be time-consuming to fill those empty ad blocks, then. Time you could have used to create fresh content for your site instead.

Make sure that your ad blocks are in the same theme or niche as your main and subsections. If you have a subsection with action games, you wouldn’t like to have ads from a company that sells puzzle games, there. Match your ads to the content of your pages, not the other way around. It can be tempting to just throw an irrelevant ad up, instead of taking the time to find a proper program for that type of content. However, that is time well spent, in the long run.

Online advertisement is expected to grow with around 30%, the next three years. Analytics believe that online advertisement will be more important, to those who advertise, than magazines etc. So it would be very foolish, not to start taking advantage of this excited opportunity, today!
